The Problem:

No documentation that would show standards and processes for supporting staff members. Privileged security was lacking

The Solution:

A set of runbooks for solutions. One for the overall design of the application solution. Another for the specific location users.

Documents contained information such as sites in scope, carriers, codec usage, routing, dialing, 3rd party integrations.

Standalone RightFax

The Problem:

Hybrid solution using traditional and IP telephony services along with RightFax Connect to supply 4000+ DID numbers for faxing. Out of contract with legacy technology costs jumped considerably to warrant a review and possible redesign.

The Solution:

Pulled the product back in house. No longer relaying on the hybrid solution allowed carriers to compete to supply trunking. Designed for multiple data center in mind with standalone Enterprise SBC’s, the clustered RightFax servers had no need to talk to “traditional” PBX systems. This new configuration gives full uptime resiliency. As a bonus, the operational savings of $450K year over year.

Standardized Infrastructure

The Problem:

Maintaining configurations and firmware files for 30+ telephone systems.

The Solution:

Simple design. Stand up new redundant file servers front-ended with a load balancer. Backend synchronization between the file servers. Reworked the configuration files so there was only one for each system. Modified all DHCP scopes to reflect the new environment.

Lab Environment

The Problem:

Existing lab location closing.

The Solution:

Had to disassemble and move an Avaya ASP4200. Required a new greenfield configuration to allow for power and IP requirements as well. System comprised of a pair of network switches, 8 VMWare hosts, 24 virtual machines and a 30TB EMC storage.

The Problem:

Need to stand up telephony services for a 24 hour reliability center. The solution had on-site, remote, physical and softclient endpoints.

The Solution:

No fireworks here. The design was straight forward, redundant trunking, redundant registrations, Toll Free numbers with advanced routing services.
